Marriage License Information
In order for your marriage to be legally recognized, applicants will need a Las Vegas Marriage License which must be obtained prior to your wedding. To obtain your marriage license, both parties must fill out an online application (HERE) and then appear in person before the Clerk at the Clark County Marriage Bureau location (see locations listed below).
A marriage license allows a couple to marry in the state of Nevada. It is not proof of marriage. A licensed wedding officiant must perform Vegas weddings. Your license must be presented before the ceremony can begin
A marriage license is issued the same day a couple applies
- There is no waiting period to get married after the marriage license has been issued.
- No blood testing is required to get a Nevada Marriage License.
- Your Nevada Marriage License is valid for one year. That means you must have a Nevada wedding ceremony within one year of obtaining the marriage license for it to be valid. You must present some type of valid identification when obtaining your Nevada Marriage License before getting married in Nevada. Any of the following may be used:
- Valid Drivers License
- U.S. or foreign country issued I.D. card showing your photo and birthdate's
- Passport
- Military Identification
- Resident Alien Card
Requirements for U.S. citizens and non U.S. citizens are the same.
The fee for a marriage license is $77.00 USD, payable by cash, cashier’s check, money order, or credit card.
